When we went to see The Hidden Sessions gig at Actors Studio Lot 10 about 2 weeks ago, we had no idea who Vials were. When we arrived at the venue, we saw some of the band members distributing their CD single for free to people who were there and when we got inside we heard this pretty catchy modern Brit indie song blasting out of the speakers (actually it will be the only song blasting out of the speakers that night, on repeat!). Like most other people who were there that night, we were pretty impressed by the song, and only after asking around did most of us find out that it was actually the opening band Vials that was blasting out of the speakers.
Watching their set, it’s pretty clear that they have quite a strong grasp on writing anthemic British indie tunes a la Coldplay, Elbow and bands of that ilk, with a little bit of that dance-y post-punk guitar work sometimes thrown in for good measure. Check out their debut single Warbstract below and don’t forget to check them out on Facebook too. A very promising start indeed.
