Popular music? Oh it’s all good beats and melodies, things you could sing or dance along to. Is that it? Wait. How would you even classify it as a popular music?

Music and society – we could relate these two elements most in the era we’re living in now. Almost everyone has got their earphones plugged in at some time of the day like it has become a part of their daily routine. Another issue would be; different listeners have different preferences and insights, which makes all music good. But what does it take for it to be popular? And how does this popular music’s increasingly essential role affects our modern lives? Most importantly, could it actually become the “cultural barometer” in our current world, generation or the future?
