There’s a new book label (some prefer to be called ‘publisher’, but not these guys) in town called FIXI, a sort of division for Malay language books from the good people at Matahari Books (who’ve published “Yasmin Ahmad’s Films”, “120 Malay Films”, “Politicians Say The Darndest Things” and more), and this coming Friday they’ll be doing a launch for both the label and the label’s first 3 books titled “Cekik”, “Kougar” and “Pecah” written by Ridhwan Saidi, Shaz Johar and Khairulnizam Bakeri respectively. All 3 novelists will be present, there’ll also be some makan-makan, and also an acoustic performance from power pop geeks Couple.

The launch starts at 8.30pm on Friday, 15th April 2011. Admission is free. Check out Fixi’s website and the event’s Facebook page for more details.
