Monday (9th March)
Live @ Kedai Sebelah | Free Entry
Located in Kelana Jaya, Kedai Sebelah is hosting a new series showcasing singer-songwriters in an intimate and acoustic setting. This week features the likes of Hameer Zawawi, Jes Ibrahim, and Billie Blue Blackstone.
Tuesday (10th March)
FUGU live at Good Friends Cafe | Minimum donation of RM30
Ng Chor Guan and Fung Chern Hwei have been making experimental music and scoring for various performing arts (theatre, dance etc) shows over the years. As an outfit, FUGU, further experiments, explore, and manipulate their instruments of choice (theremin and violin).
UNEARTH – Watching The World Asia Tour | RM83 (Early Bird), RM99 (Presale), RM110 (At The Door)
Supported by local heavyweights Incarnation and Massacre Conspiracy, American metalcore band, UNEARTH (US) will be heading down to Black Box in Publika, Kuala Lumpur, for a night of mayhem.
Wednesday (11th March)
Ssighborgg Geodesy Asia Tour | RM35 (Presale), RM45 At The Door
Synth-centric math rock band, Ssighborgg, is a two piece outfit that churns out their brand of math-rock and electronica, complete with live drums, guitars, and various other instruments. Their poly-rhythm and multi-instrumental repertoire would resonate well with fans of bands such as Battles, Boards of Canada, Fuck Buttons, and more. Hosted by Soundscape Records, the show will be supported by local acts, Silent Keat and Virginia On Duty, and will be held at JUICE Magazine’s lovely pad in Uptown, KL.
Pisco Bar in Changkat Bukit Bintang have been running a live music series for a while, and continues this week with rock outfit, Cats In Love, alongside Four Leaf Clover with their Celtic folk music. The night will kick off with a couple of open-micers.
Friday (13th March)
Friday The 13th Vol 2 | Entry by donation
An evening of experimental and improvised music, dance, and visuals, Friday The 13th Vol 2 will feature the their resident sound artist, Tim Blechmann, alongside improv saxophonist Yong Yandsen, accompanied by dancer Ren Xin, and visuals by Wong Eng Leong.
Saturday (14th March)
Jacques Greene Does Kuala Lumpur (DJ Set) | RM35 (+ first drink)
Canadian music producer, Jacques Greene, will be playing a DJ set at Nagaba in Kuala Lumpur, ending his Asia Tour. Supported by The Other Party, DJ Vin, and Moslem Priest.
