Truth be told, there are less events here in Klang Valley during the start of the month, so we’ve included a couple more shows outside Klang Valley in the list. Either way, here’s our picks this week.

Klang Valley:

Saturday (7th March)

Unholy Alliance Revolt III | RM 15
Gigs This Week: Klang Valley & Beyond (3/3 - 8/3)
Rumah Api will be hosting what seems to be a Saturday evening filled with mayhem this weekend. Headlining the show would be Melbourne based metal band, COLOSSVS, alongside Tools Of The Trade, Daighila, Allnighttotalintoxication, and Kebulur.

Kota Wanita | Free Entry
Kota Wanita
This isn’t really a music event, but something we feel you should check out anyways. In conjunction with the International Women’s Day, Kota Wanita will be hosting a series of workshops, talks & panel discussions, exhibitions and more. Music photographer Nadia Mahfix will be presenting her work, and it’s been said that the poetry reading session (note Simfoni Ketiak Beracun, and Rahmat Haron) should be checked out as well.

Merdekarya Live In March | Free Entry
Merdekarya live in March
Merdekarya continues their residents programming this month, with weekly performances by resident musicians. Catch owner Brian Gomez on Fridays and Americana-folk band, The Cotton Field Scarecrows on Saturdays.

Sunday (8th March)

Classic Album Sundays | Free Entry

Hard Graft Records will be hosting ‘Classic Album Sundays’ this coming 8th of March, a session that focuses on music appreciation, on vinyl records. Their second installment of the series, this Sunday’s session will look at Isaac Hayes’ classic, “Black Moses”, to be presented by Farez Jinnah of Maharajah Commission. Definitely a must for music lovers.

Beyond:

Friday (6th March)

Killeur Calculateur Book Of Flags Tour: Perlis | Free Entry
kc-perlis
The sentence “Gigs in Perlis” is something that KL-ites rarely hear being used, but come Friday, it would be the place to be if you’re up North. Post-punk outfit, Killeur Calculateur, will be heading up to D’Muzika Studio in Kampung Jejawi, Perlis, as an extension to their ‘Book Of Flags Tour’ campaign. Their show will be supported by instrumental / post-rock band, Moi Last Von, and Villains a. City.
