Sharliza Jelita - Ku Ingin Selalu Disampingmu

Now you have a solid reason to drag your moms and pops to hangout at our site instead of having them whining and wondering from the corner what is it on the net that have been stealing your whole attention. Yup, you got it right people, it’s THAT ‘Ku Ingin Selalu Disampingmu’, that golden hit by Uji Rashid back in the year of 1975. But only this time, it’s not by the madam herself.

Slightly astray from her usual eccentric pop style, the Singaporean Sharliza Jelita unveils her latest project in producing a set of sleek, stripped-back covers of songs that used to be popular in the 1920s-1990s. Donning a 1960s red tailor-made kebaya and embracing the Saloma style in the video, ‘Ku Ingin Selalu Disampingmu’ is obviously one of the bits in her project. Apart from it amplifies her deep-toned vocals, this version of the tune sounds more of retro bossa and vintage than the original one, making it sounds like it’s performed in one of those P. Ramlee films back in the 60s.

Here it comes with English subtitles, listen to Sharliza Jelita – ‘Ku Ingin Selalu Disampingmu’.
