David Tarigan, one of the forefathers of the indie music scene in Indonesia, started dabbling in the scene during his college years, when he started a music magazine called Ripple, along with his friends. A fine arts graduate from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), David went on to approach the partners of already established bookstore, Aksara, which led to them launching Aksara Records, a prominent record label in Jakarta releasing some of Indonesia’s finest bands.

Currently, David is working on documenting and archiving Indonesian music with ‘Irama Nusantara‘.

Recorded at Rolling Stone Magazine’s office in Jakarta, Indonesia.
