Muck is one the bands appearing on The Wknd Sessions Live #3 – happening on 15-August-2015 Insider Satellite, Ipoh.

Legendary rockers Muck probably don’t need an introduction – they’ve been in the scene long enough that practically they’ve seen generations grow up as they’ve been churning out show after show all these years.

Formed more than 21 years ago in 1994, Muck consists of Myo (drums), Ducktoi (vocals/guitar), Kujoy (guitar) and Feroz (bass). The band is inspired by alt-rock pioneers like Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth and Pavement, and this 90’s trademark sonic quality is prevalent in their musical output.

They’ve performed at almost every major music showcase and festival throughout the years – Baybeats, Rock The World, Sunburst, Rockaway, Urbanscape et al. In 2006, they had a hugely successful tour throughout Indonesia, with stops in Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang and Jogjakarta.

The band is on the verge of (finally!) releasing a proper album – having seen an 18-year gap since first releasing their demo tapes in 1995 and 1996. This debut-of-sorts is long-awaited, with fans across the country eagerly counting the days until they can get their hands on it.

“Muck music is not like that of most local bands. It has that, er.. distinctive ‘Ipoh sound’. The band has appeared in various compilations like The Underworld Chronicles, BARA, Breaking Ground and most importantly Perak’s pivotal Kopi Sechewen compilation series – which was coincidentally spearheaded by Bodysurf Music, a label run by Myo and Ducktoi. After laying low for quite a while, the band took everyone by surprise when they released a split album with another lo-fi band from the UK, Things in Herd. More mature and refined, the split CD saw Muck at their creative peak and it could be rated as one of the best local releases ever.”
