Local post-hardcore heroes Killeur Calculateur have released a new song called “Tayang Sulit”, their first new recorded material since 2014’s Book of Flags. The song is quite a notable departure from their previous sound, embracing a warmer, more melodic sound with very noticeable hints of math rock and screamo. It’ll be interesting to see whether “Tayang Sulit” is an indicator of their future direction or something of a one-off.
The song’s lyrics are in Malay, too, which is definitely something different for the quartet, and it’s always good to see well-written Malay lyrics.
