BOTANIC Records has announced its fourth release and first release of 2017, a seven-track compilation titled Walled Garden Vol. 01, scheduled for release in July. The compilation will feature Malaysian stalwarts—and BOTANIC favourites—Adam Kasturi and Orang, but also features contributions from Indonesian post-punk duo GASHH and Manila-based producer Sylfiden (who contributes a track featuring Singaporean vocalist Vandetta).
As the name suggests, Walled Garden Vol. 01 is the first in a series of compilations designed to highlight regional talent “flourishing ‘between the cracks’ of an increasingly homogenous landscape of streaming services and made-for-radio head-nodders.”
